Why not just offer my multisensory style discovery sessions without involving the moon? When I mention that I work with the rhythms of the moon as a stylist, I get either blank stares or a sudden shift in expression that I would describe as distrust.
I’ve learned to trust my intuition, and it’s telling me to continue on this path because it asks me to dismantle old systems—systems shaped by more than 600 years of patriarchy that have disconnected us from our bodies, emotions, intuition, nature, and one another.
When it comes to style expression, there’s no denying that getting dressed becomes a joy when we feel fully embodied.
What does it mean to be embodied? It means being attuned to our bodies, listening to how they feel, and honoring their various needs: moving when we need movement and resting when we’re tired—even when our schedules are packed. Burnout and grind culture have been celebrated for far too long, disconnecting us from the wisdom of our bodies and the magic of our intuition.
I feel it is my life’s duty to help people expand their creative expression through style so they can live more playful, fulfilling, and joyful lives.
Embodiment is an important part of that journey, which is why I explore tea wisdom, plant wisdom, and chakra activation in my multisensory style discovery sessions. This work is part of reclaiming and sharing the knowledge once understood by the healers, midwives, and wise women of their villages, before male authority deemed it dangerous.
The covering up of this knowledge led to one of the darkest chapters in human history, and its pain continues to live silently within the cells of women around the world through bouts of anger, distrust, pain, and fear. In his book A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose, the contemporary spiritual teacher Eckhart Tolle refers to these emotionally charged energies as the “pain body.”
In our modern world, many of us live in a constant state of stress and disconnection, feeling we have little choice but to rely on medication and stimulation to manage pain and discomfort. This can further distance us from the natural rhythms of life, our intuition, and spontaneous expression.
Healing, growth, and shedding outdated versions of ourselves that hold us back from a new way of life is uncomfortable. Sometimes it feels like death. We cling to old identities, fearful to let go because then we are forced to face the unknown. Often this manifests physically in the contents of our closets.
Many of us seem to turn to only 15% of what is occupying our wardrobe 85% of the time. Could this be your pattern or a pattern of someone you know?
What might the 15% of clothing you consistently turn to symbolically reveal about your identity in this moment in time?
Reflect with honesty and vulnerability: are you allowing yourself to explore other unfamiliar aspects of your deeper self? Clothing is an excellent tool for gently uncovering new versions of ourselves if the current version is limiting us in any way.
With the New Moon Collectif, I’m proud to offer supportive style discovery sessions that create a state of trust and flow, allowing the inner work to unfold and the outer world to follow.
The October New Moon is taking place on the 10th, and I have the recorded lesson ready for you to experience. In this session recording, which you can access as my Substack Subscriber, I guide you to celebrate the grounding brown hue and all the sensory elements associated with this comforting and reliable colour, including: earthy patchouli essence, nourishing cinnamon tea, the luxurious symbolism of the velvet textile, and the protective qualities of the Tiger’s Eye crystal. I guide you through a meditation and reflective exercises designed to help you gently uncover a fresh version of yourself, then inspire you to choose a new piece for your wardrobe that stylishly expresses this emerging side of you.
It’s time to change the narrative around moon rhythms, which are part of nature and part of us. The moon, with its steady, reliable cycle, can offer us much comfort during these chaotic times.
If the subject of the moon triggers you or brings up negative associations, it may be an invitation to reflect on and heal those responses. In doing so, you may also contribute to the collective healing of the systems of control that patriarchy put in place hundreds of years ago, systems that continue to affect the planet and humanity at large.
With love,
Inna
Creative Director of Jewel Branding Studios
The first 14 minutes of the session are available on my YouTube Channel for free if you are ready to just learn about the healing qualities of the brown hue.
